Our wholesale fresh produce department has a great team with extensive knowledge who will assist you in sourcing the produce thats right for your business.

The fresh produce team have a great deal of experience of sourcing both local and international fresh produce depending on our customers requirements.

We have split our fresh produce division into three specialist departments - veg, salad & fruit. This allows us to focus on each area and has allowed the relevant sales staff to become experts in their particular field.

Andrew Colburn - Produce Managing Director and head of the Fruit Department.
Andrew had formerly run his own fresh produce company before joining Gilbert Thompsons. He has excellent relationships with a network of suppliers and imports produce from all over the world. He believes constant inovation is the way to stay ahead of the competition.

Russell Harland - head of the Vegetable Department.
Russell started in the fresh produce business when he was just seventeen and now runs his own department. He always has a focus on quality which is essential in the vegetable trade.

Michael Thompson - Company Director and head of the Salad Department.
Michael, grandson of Gilbert the company founder, is constantly on the lookout for new products to satisfy the demands of our caterering customers. He always try to source UK based product whenever possible.
